Delete your Byname data

You can delete everything the app holds without contacting anyone, and it takes a few seconds.

If you still have the app

Open Settings, then “Erase everything in this app”. That destroys everything the app holds locally and returns it to how it was on the day you installed it, and it reaches nothing else on the phone. If you paired with someone, the pairing screen also has “Delete this room”, which removes both of you from the shared room and stops the code working, so neither phone can reach any of it again.

To have the shared room erased

“Delete this room” ends both partners’ access, and it is the part you can do yourself in seconds. Erasing the stored room is done by a person at our end: email support@axoniteglobal.com with the room code and we’ll remove it within thirty days.

If you have already uninstalled

The same address, and the same room code: support@axoniteglobal.com. There’s no account to look you up by, and no name, email or phone number is ever attached to one, so the code is the only thing that identifies what to delete. If you no longer have it, look in whatever message you sent your partner.

What gets deleted

The room and everything stored under it: the name you chose to show your partner, the filters, any names either of you added, the list of names each of you had seen, the notification tokens, and the usage counts described in the privacy policy. Nothing is kept afterwards.

What never reached us in the first place

If you used the app on your own and never paired, there is nothing to delete on our side. No room was created, so the names you swiped and anything you typed never went anywhere but your own phone. There’s no advertising in any part of the app, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
